A Word From Our Director . . .

Having greatly benefitted from counseling myself, I founded Child & Family Psychological Services in 1989 with the goal of providing the highest quality psychology services to people needing assistance as they face life’s challenges. My hope was to develop a practice where these people could feel safe, comfortable and cared about. My dreams have been more than realized.

Child & Family Psychological Services (CFPS) has been in existence for 20 years. Thousands of individuals have benefited from services delivered through CFPS.  My initial vision was to start a small practice where individuals who are struggling on certain levels could come to obtain guidance and support, from caring and competent professionals.  I have been blessed to find a number of colleagues with a similar vision who have decided to join me over the years.

Over the years, thousands of people have benefitted from the services provided by myself and the other therapists at CFPS. We have helped people overcome depression and learn how to manage their fears and anxiety. We have helped people manage challenging life adjustments. We have helped diagnose learning disabilities and helped people get the assistance they need to cope with their disabilities. We have helped people regain their faith in themselves and rediscover the joys of living.

As is apparent in this web site, CFPS is no longer a small practice.  This allows us to offer a wide range of therapy services and styles and to find a therapist who will be a good "fit" for virtually any individual that might be to referred to us.  I hope that you will find this web site to be a useful tool for that purpose.  As the director, I appreciate every referral that is made to CFPS and I stand behind the quality and integrity of our services.

This site is designed to help you make the best possible referral for an individual needing psychological services. It will introduce you to CFPS therapists -- their qualifications, interests, education, professional affiliations, which insurance plans they participate with, and how they view their role as a therapist.

I am available by phone, fax or e-mail to answer any questions you might have regarding our services or if you would like my help in choosing an appropriate therapist for you or your patient.

Sincerely,

Larry Beer
